About the event

Circuit information FCircuit Paul Ricard For ten years the French Grand Prix was absent from the schedule of the Formula 1 Word Championship. The first edition was held from 21 to 24 June 2018. More than 160,000 spectators were welcomed during the 4-day event at the Circuit Paul Ricard, with more than 65,000 people on Sunday, Grand Prix day, alone. From 21 to 23 June 2019, the event will be back for a second time since its return and, for the occasion, will be celebrating the 60th edition of the French Formula 1 Grand Prix!

Circuit Address: 2760 Route des Hauts du Camp, RDN8, 83330 Le Castellet, France Capacity: 90,000

Useful tips:

During the three-day event, spectators will be able to follow the F3, F2 and Formula 1 races. The 20 drivers from the 10 Formula 1 teams, will do battle over the three-day event during free practices, qualifying sessions, and, finally, the Grand Prix itself, the most awaited race of the weekend on Sunday 23 June at 3.10 pm.

Many activities and concerts will set the pace of the weekend for spectators: a fan zone, two activity villages, the reconstruction of a Provencal village, music, concerts every evening, and a breath-taking display on the track.

About Marseille

Average Temperature June: Highs 26° / Lows 17°
Currency: EUR (Euro)

Grit and grandeur coexist seamlessly in Marseille, an exuberantly multicultural port city with a pedigree stretching back to classical Greece and a fair claim to the mantle of France’s second city. Once seen to be lacking the glamour of Cannes or St-Tropez, this black sheep of the Provençal coastline has blossomed in cultural confidence since its 2013 stint as the European Capital of Culture.

What is Marseille famous for?

France is probably most famous for its amazing and indulgent food, and this harbour town is no exception. Seafood is the dish of the day, most notably bouillabaisse - a delicious fish and seafood soup.

Getting around

Taxis are not cheap in this cosmopolitan city, but public transport is plentiful. A great way to see the city is by bike, using the cycle hire system. You will need to register and have a credit card handy. See the Le Velo website for more information.

Things to do in Marseille

Here are just a few idea of things to do/ see in in your free time:

The Old Port

The thriving heart of Marseille, this is the prettiest part of town and a great place to catch boat tours or soak up the atmosphere.

Notre Dame de la Guarde

Looming over the city is this popular attraction - a Catholic Basilica with an unmissable gold statue of the Madonna and Child

Palais Longchamp

This grand monument houses the French Natural History Museum and the Musee de Beaux-arts, so a visit kills three birds with one stone.

Marseille Cathedral

Catch the train up the hill in summer to see this beautiful cathedral and enjoy wonderful views of the harbour and sea below.
