What to expect with your Darts World Championship Tickets.

With the 2020/21 World Darts Championship being held predominantly behind closed doors, this year’s event is preparing to welcome back upwards of 3000 avid fans to one of sports’ biggest parties and the biggest event in the darts calendar. All 28 sessions of the prestigious event will be witnessed live and in person by the fans lucky enough to get their official PDC darts tickets.

The event kicks off on Wednesday 15th of December 2021 and will run through until the final on Monday 3rd of January 2022. Those in attendance at the Alexandra Palace venue will witness 96 of the sports’ biggest names and best players come from around the globe to compete, with a staggering £2.5million in prize money up for grabs. This veritable festive feast of darts marks the perfect way to end what has been a difficult year and is the perfect way to usher in what we all hope will be a better 2022.

With Sportsbreaks.com offering exclusive, ticket inclusive travel packages to one of the most prestigious competitions in the sport, this is your chance to revel in the party atmosphere with your official darts tickets, as well as enjoy a well-deserved break in the vibrant and bustling city of London.

The Event

Last year saw Gerwyn Price dethrone the reigning champion from 2019, Michael van Gerwen, to claim first place in the 2020 PDC world darts championship, scooping £500,000 in prize money. This year, Price will be the player everyone wants to beat, with players such as Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright looking to claim the top spot this year.

This year marks the 28th staging of the William Hill World Darts Championship, with the star-studded field looking to aim straight and throw true in order to bag the prize money. With Gerwyn Price looking to retain his title, which would be no mean feat considering the caliber of the competition, with 3-time winner Michael van Gerwen and a host of other big names competing for the Sid Waddell trophy.

The top-ranked 32 players from around the world will enter the championship at the 2nd stage, with the 1st round featuring 32 seeded international representatives facing off against the 32 qualifiers who came through the ProTour Order of Merit.

The one to watch

Despite Gerwyn Price looking to hold onto this prestigious title, it is Peter Wright who is coming into the William Hill World Darts Championship in red hot form. Fresh from his triumph at the PDC Super Series, Wright has now won his 5th title of 2021 following his victory over Jonny Clayton, adding to his recent World Matchplay crown.

But with Clayton himself having won several events this year, and placing well in others, in addition to the household name that is Raymond van Barneveld also doing well this year, it is truly anyone’s championship to win coming into this year’s event.

The Venue

Having first hosted the William Hill World Darts Championship for the 2007/08 event after replacing the Circus Tavern in Essex, attending the Alexandra Palace has become something of a pilgrimage for avid darting fans.

Over the past 14 years, there have been some truly historic and memorable moments at the Ally Pally, with iconic 9-darters, Fallon Sherrock’s famous win as well as the emotional goodbye to the legend that is Phil Taylor’s farewell in a final.

There are very few sports and venues that can rival the Ally Pally when it comes to atmosphere. A full house in full swing is truly one of any sports most electric atmospheres, and this year, as the Alexandra Palace prepares to welcome back the flocks of fans, you can experience the buzz for yourself with a Sportsbreaks.com official PDC Ticket and Hotel Break.
