Kick-Off Your Scottish Rugby Experience!

As official match break & supporter travel partners, we are proud to provide an experience like no other for the Autumn Nations Cup, Guinness 6 Nations and more!

But that’s not all. Our match break experience allows you to also soak in the breathtaking attractions that Edinburgh has to offer before, or after, the big game (and trust us - Edinburgh is a city to remember!)

Of course, you can’t visit Edinburgh without taking a trip to the world-famous Edinburgh Castle. Dating back to the 12th century, the oldest part is St Margaret's Chapel with the Great Hall being erected by James IV around 1510. Nowadays, the castle has been voted top UK Heritage Attraction in the British Travel Awards and is Scotland’s number one paid-for tourist attraction!

While you’re there, don’t forget to stick around for the One O’Clock Gun at 1 pm (excluding Sundays). The original gun was a 64-pounder and since 2001, a 105mm field gun has instead been fired from the Mills Mount Battery. Pretty cool, right?

You can’t say Edinburgh without thinking about the city’s famous love for whiskey. The Scotch Whisky Experience is a must-see for anyone (over 18 of course!) and includes a true taste of Scotland.

If mystery and horror are more your appetite then we encourage you to visit the Edinburgh Vaults. Built in the 18th century beneath South Bridge, the vaults sit beneath Edinburgh’s Old Town and are known as the city’s “dark secret.” If you are looking to find out why the vaults were built and who used them then this tour is the one for you! Oh, and we have also been told that these creepy chambers are one of the most haunted locations in the city so keep two eyes open at all times!

If the Edinburgh Vaults aren’t enough to feed your need for history, then the National Museum of Scotland might. Originally formed in 2006, the museum explores the diversity of the natural world, global cultures, science, technology and more! From museum trails to taking a peek at historic animal skeletons - there’s so much to see and do! Why not also explore astronomy with the magnificent orrery and mighty Schmidt telescope located on level 3? It’s definitely worth a look!

When booking with sportsbreaks.com, you can be assured that you have the resources available if you need any on-hand support.
